Harvest Worship Academy
Dates & Times
Sep 24, 20194:00pm - 9:45pm
Welcome to Harvest Worship Academy! We are so excited to have you join us. Harvest Worship Academy is a unique training program focused on developing anyone in our church or community who is called to worship ministry or just wanting to learn an instrument. Our goal is to equip each student both spiritually and musically over a 12 week quarter and for them to take those skills back to their church to further the Kingdom of God through worship. We are inviting worshipers of any skill level from age 8 and up to register.
Harvest Worship Academy was founded by worship leader, Levi Corrao, in the fall of 2016. It was originally designed to be a pathway and discipleship program for potential worship team members of Harvest Hill Church to participate in platform ministry. Since then, it has opened up to children and adults age 8 and up in both our church and community as a resource for training and mentoring in music and worship ministry. The current Director of Harvest Worship Academy is Laura Bradford, email@example.com.
We offer group music classes for 6 different instruments: keyboard, voice, acoustic guitar, lead electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums. Each instrument has 3 levels of instruction. After passing the 3rd level in any given instrument, a student is considered “platform ready” in terms of skill set for the worship team training track. Students may enroll in any given level multiple times, until they are proficient enough to move on to the next level. Students are evaluated at the beginning of each quarter to determine their skill levels and to recommend an appropriate course of study. We also offer other classes, including Spiritual Development, Worship Leading, Worship Song Writing, Basic Music Theory, and Ladies Worship Dance.
There are 3 tracks of study. The first track is for worshipers that are currently training for platform ministry. The second track is for children that are training to one day be on a worship team. The third track is for adults and children who just want to learn an instrument. All tracks will incorporate worship and sacred music, leadership skills, performance skills, and spiritual development at varying levels.
PLACEMENT AND FINAL EVALUATIONS
Harvest Worship Academy Placement Evaluations are on September 21st (time TBA). Placement Evaluations are for the purpose of placing you in the appropriate class based on your skill level and goals. Evaluations are done privately before a small panel and typically last 20 minutes. We currently evaluate for voice, keyboard, drums, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and lead electric guitar. You will need to bring your own instrument to evaluations (except for keyboard and drums, which will be provided).
IF YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT YOU ARE A LEVEL 1 BEGINNER, OR IF YOU ARE WILLING TO PARTICIPATE IN A VERBAL ASSESSMENT OVER THE PHONE INSTEAD, YOU DO NOT NEED TO EVALUATE. PLEASE EMAIL LAURA BRADFORD AT LAURA.BRADFORD@HARVESTHILL.CHURCH TO INFORM HER OF YOUR LEVEL 1 STATUS OR DECISION TO NOT EVALUATE. IF YOU ALREADY PARTICIPATED IN EVALUATIONS AT THE END OF LAST QUARTER, YOU DO NOT NEED TO RE-EVALUATE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO. PLEASE EMAIL LAURA BRADFORD AT LAURA.BRADFORD@HARVESTHILL.CHURCH TO INFORM HER OF YOUR DESIRE TO RE-EVALUATE.
Final Evaluations are for the purpose of passing a class. They are required of all students who want to advance to the next class level.
Orientation is scheduled for Monday, September 23rd from 7:00pm-8:00pm. You will receive your class schedule then.
All students 12 and up that are on a worship track will be required to take a Spiritual Development class, at no cost, in addition to their instrument of choice.
BASIC MUSIC THEORY
All voice students who have not passed the Academy Music Theory Test yet are required to register for a one time, 6 week, $95 course in Basic Music Theory in addition to their voice training class. If students wish to test out of the course, they may do so at the time of their placement evaluations by taking the final exam for Basic Music Theory.
PASTOR RECOMMENDATION FORM
All students 12 and up who are on a worship team training track and do not attend Harvest Hill Church are required to submit a signed Pastor Recommendation Form before the quarter begins. If you need a copy of the form emailed to you, please contact Laura Bradford at firstname.lastname@example.org
Class times currently run on Tuesday nights from 4:00pm-9:45pm and/or Wednesday nights from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Classes are 45 minutes long starting on the hour with 15 minutes in between. We will have a total of 6 time slots back to back on Tuesday night and 2 time slots back to back on Wednesday night with multiple classes running simultaneously. STUDENT TIME SLOTS WILL BE ASSIGNED ACCORDING TO PLACEMENT EVALUATIONS, TEACHER AVAILABILITY, AND STUDENT REGISTRATIONS. Class sizes may range from 1-6 students. Ages may range from 8 and up. Classes are designed to be fast-paced to accommodate both the casual learner and the highly motivated student.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: WE MAY HAVE MINIMUM REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR A PARTICULAR CLASS. IF A CLASS DOES NOT MEET MINIMUM REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS, WE WILL, UNFORTUNATELY, HAVE TO CANCEL THE CLASS.
